Van der Zande Quickest in Foggy Laguna Seca Warmup

Renger van der Zande topped the time sheets in a foggy warmup session for this afternoon’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

The Dutchman took the No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R to a quick lap of 1:15.729 to edge out the pole-sitting No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Acura ARX-05 of Ricky Taylor by 0.020 seconds.

Pipo Derani recorded the third quickest time in the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac.

Other class pace-setters included Ryan Dalziel (Era Motorsport/LMP2), Matt Campbell (WeatherTech Racing/GTLM) and Bill Auberlen (Turner Motorsport/GTD).

No incidents were reported over the course of the 20-minute session.

The two-hour and 40-minute race gets underway at 4 p.m. ET with live coverage on NBCSN and on IMSA Radio.
