Scuderia Corsa’s Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 will have a new look when it returns to action at Daytona next weekend, with the GT Daytona class contender sporting a patriotic livery for the WeatherTech 240 at Daytona.
The traditional black and white WeatherTech livery will give way to red, white and blue stripes to celebrate the July 4 holiday and the return to IMSA competition.
Ferrari factory driver Toni Vilander will be joined by Cooper MacNeil in the Prancing Horse, as one of the GTD entries to be unchanged since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.
“We wanted to celebrate IMSA’s return to racing with a little different look for the WeatherTech Racing Ferrari 488 Evo,” Cooper MacNeil said. “WeatherTech is sponsoring the race and wanted to take it one step further and give our Ferrari a little different look from when we raced there five months ago at the 24 hour.”
MacNeil and Vilander finished seventh in January’s season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona, alongside Jeff Westphal and Alessandro Balzan, who completed the lineup for the twice-around-the-clock Florida endurance classic.
