Will Bamber led the way on the combined practice time charts for this week’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America season opener at Sebring International Raceway.

The TR3 Racing driver vaulted to a best lap of 2:00.599 in his No. 29 TR3 Racing Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2, ending up just 0.008 seconds quicker than Pro-Am pace-setter Danny Formal in the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing entry.

Defending Pro class champion Hampus Ericsson, who set the quickest time in Practice 1, ended up third quickest overall on the day and second in class in the No. 1 WTR entry.

Colin Queen was fourth fastest overall for ANSA Motorsports, with Brandon Gdovic completing the top-five in his Precision Performance Motorsports Lamborghini.

Johan Schwartz led the way in the Am class for 89x Motorsports while Topp Racing’s Rocky T Bolduc was quickest in LB Cup.

Practice 1 started with all cars receiving a drive-through penalty for “improper logistics protocol” which Sportscar365 understands was related to teams not adhering to IMSA’s paddock load-in procedure.

Both the No. 72 XONINE and No. 16 Alliance Lamborghinis had separate spins in Turn 16, while the No. 74 SP Motorsports entry of Paul Whiting brought out a red flag with 16 minutes to go for an impact with the Turn 1 barriers.

The session restarted with the No. 95 Forty7 Motorpsorts entry of Christopher Tasca off course in Turn 15, while the No. 37 TR3 Racing Lamborghini of Clay Wilson spun in Turn 14.

Additional five-minute stop-and-hold penalties were handed out to the Nos. 12, 33 and 57 entries at the start of Practice 2 due to entering the track prior to technical inspection.

A red came out with less than 15 minutes to go in the second session for the No. 66 Forty7 Lamborghini of Christopher Kebbe, which stopped in Turn 15.

Multiple cars received drive-through penalties for various infringements when the session restarted.

Qualifying for the pair of season opening races is set for Thursday at 11:55 a.m. EST, followed by Race 1 6:05 p.m., which will be streamed live on Peacock as well as IMSA and Lamborghini’s YouTube channels, featuring commentary from Ryan Myrehn and Brian Till.
