Danny Formal and Jaden Conwright have secured poles for this weekend’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America races at Watkins Glen International.

Formal will start on pole for Race 1 in his No. 1 Prestige Performance with Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2, after setting a 144.948 lap time.

This is his second pole of the season, and third in the single-make series.

The 26- year-old Costa Rican driver improved on his second attempt, and beat out practice-leader, Patrick Kujala, who only made one flying attempt. Formal will share the car with Canadian Kyle Marcelli.

The No. 46 Precision Performance Motorsports Pro-Am entry, driven by John Castro Dubets, was the third fastest car in Qualifying 1. Nikko Reger set the pace in the Am class, while Charlie Martin was the fastest LB Cup car of the first session.

An impressive lap by Conwright put his Pro-Am class No. 42 NTE Sport Lamborghini on the pole position in Q2, just three hundredths of a second faster than the Pro car of Marcelli with his 1:44.853 lap.

NOLA winner Nelson Piquet Jr. will start Race 2 from third position in the No. 30 ANSA Motorsport car.

Jon Miller’s 1:46.174 made him the fastest Am driver of the second session, and the No. 14 the Flying Lizard Motorsports Lamborghini of Slade Stewart was fastest in LB Cup.

The first session saw a red flag brought out almost immediately, as Claude Senhoreti hit the barriers at the Bus Stop Chicane on his out lap. While drivers had running time delayed by the red flag, all cars had the opportunity to complete at least two flying laps.

A separate incident in Q1 handed the Am class No. 4 MCR Racing entry a five-place grid penalty for Race 1 after being found to be responsible for tangling with the No. 34 TR3 Racing machine.

Neither car set a time in the first session; however, Rogelio Perusquia managed two laps in  Q2, and will start last in Race 2.

Race 1 will take place today at 2:25 p.m. ET and will be streamed live on Peacock and IMSA.tv.

RESULTS: Qualifying 1 / Qualifying 2
