Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Pro class co-points leader Will Bamber has made the switch from TR3 Racing to X09 Racing with immediate effect, it has been confirmed.
Bamber, the brother of Cadillac Hypercar/GTP factory driver Earl, swept the weekend in last month’s season-opener at Sebring International Raceway alongside TR3 co-driver Elias De La Torre.
The pairing, who finished runner-up in the single-make championship last year, have now been split up as a result, with Dennis Lind rejoining the TR3 outfit and Bamber replacing Dominic Starkweather alongside Darius Trinka in the X09 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2, beginning with next month’s round at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
It’s understood that TR3 severed ties with Bamber, which has also resulted in a shakeup in the team’s GT World Challenge America powered by AWS lineup.
“I want to thank everyone who has been a part of my journey thus far,” said Bamber. “This new opportunity has me feeling completely refreshed and reinvigorated as we continue the mission toward the Pro class title.
“Darius is a brilliant driver, and XO9 Racing is a team I’ve been watching closely for some time.
“They have fantastic people in place, and everything points in the right direction. There are a lot of natural synergies, and with existing relationships already within the team, this feels like the perfect fit moving forward. I can’t wait to get started.”
X09 Racing owner Tadas Karlinskas added: “We were looking to strengthen the pro car after Sebring, but Will definitely wasn’t on our bingo card for 2026.
“We’re really excited about this pairing, and we hope to put a car in their hands that can bring us the championship in our debut season.”
Lind, a former Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe champion and World Final winner, will rejoin the South Florida-based team after previously contesting several GTWC America races with TR3.
“It’s a team I have actively tried to get back to work with since 2021 in Sebring,” he said. “It’s also great to be back in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo which started my professional career.
Team boss Gregory Romanelli added: “I’m thrilled to have Dennis back at TR3 Racing. He’s been an important part of our team in the past, and his talent and experience make him a perfect match with Elias.
[Elias] is such a strong driver and his hard work and dedication to this program show in his results time after time.
“I am so proud of him always and am very excited for what’s to come with this duo. I can’t wait to see them on track together.
“Our Lamborghini program continues to grow stronger each year. With Dennis and Elias behind the wheel, we’re ready to compete at the highest level and deliver thrilling racing for our fans.”
Both TR3 and the newly formed X09 teams field expansive four-car operations in Super Trofeo competition.
