Taurino Paces First COTA Practice

Giano Taurino was quickest in Friday’s opening Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America practice session of the weekend at Circuit of The Americas.

The TR3 Racing driver pedaled his No. 88 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 to a chart-topping lap of 2:07.536 in the 45-minute session at the Lone Star Le Mans weekend.

It was 0.612 seconds quicker than the No. 4 ANSA Motorsports entry of Nico Jamin, with the No. 29 TR3 Racing machine of Elias De La Torre completing the top-three overall and in the Pro class.

Danny Formal set a 2:07.459 lap time in the No. 1 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti entry although his time was disallowed due to a track limits violation in Turn 19.

Pro-Am was led by the No. 66 Forty7 Motorsports Lamborghini of AJ Muss, while Anthony McIntosh and Glenn McGee paced Am in the No. 69 WTRAndretti entry.

Rodrigo Vales was quickest of the LB Cup competitors in his No. 34 TR3 Racing Lamborghini.

The session saw a two red flags, the first the No. 45 Precision Performance Motorsports entry of Rob Walker, which had an incident in Turn 3.

A second red came with less than ten minutes on the clock for the No. 24 ANSA machine of David Cardenas, who also had an off in Turn 3.

The session did not restart as a result of the required cleanup.

The second and final Super Trofro practice session is scheduled for 3:25 p.m. CDT.
