***IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge competitor Todd Coleman is making his Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America debut this weekend, having been a late confirmation in the No. 96 TR3 Racing Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 in the Am class. Coleman suffered an accident in Friday’s opening race of the weekend to bring out a yellow.
***Nikko Regger, meanwhile, has been added to the Pro-Am class No. 20 NTE Sport entry alongside Shehan Chandrasoma, while the No. 07 TR3 Lamborghini of Alexandre Lima and Pierre Kleinubing was moved from the LB Cup to the Am class prior to the start of official track action on Thursday.
***The No. 8 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport Lamborghini, meanwhile, is now in Pro-Am this weekend with the addition of Nick Persing to the driver lineup alongside Nate Stacy, who drove solo in last month’s season-opener at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in the Pro class.
***The Stacy-Persing combo are set for the remainder of the season. This weekend marks the 20-year-old’s GT racing debut after previous experience in Blue Marble Radical Cup North America and Formula Regional Americas Championship competition.
***Persing said: “I am honored to be joining such an established team like WTR Andretti. It will definitely be something I look back on as an accomplishment in my racing career. I am also extremely excited to be working with Nate in this upcoming race. I think his experience in GT cars will help me get a jump on the learning curve.”
***The 36 entries for this weekend’s third and fourth rounds of the season equals the largest-ever grid for the series, exceeding the 35-car target laid out by Automobili Lamborghini America senior motorsport manager Chris Ward prior to the start of the season. Last year’s event at Watkins Glen featured the same number of cars take part.
***Race 1, however, featured a 34-car starting field following the withdrawal of the No. 64 Flying Lizard Motorsports Lamborghini of Tom Tait after an accident in qualifying, while the No. 33 World Speed entry of Dan Decker also did not participate after suffering similar fate in qualifying as well.

***Kyle Marcelli and Danny Formal return as the current championship leaders in the Pro class as well as defending race winners after a sweep of the weekend last year. The duo got off to a strong start this weekend with victory in Race 1 on Friday.
***The duo are pulling double duty, driving alongside former Super Trofeo teammate Ashton Harrison in Sunday’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen in the No. 93 Racers Edge Motorsports with WTR Andretti Acura NSX GT3 Evo22. Luke Berkeley is another driver in both series this weekend, with the young Californian making his IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut at the wheel of NTE Sport’s Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2.
***Raymond Davoudi, who has returned for his second-ever Super Trofeo race weekend, is coming off a test with Valkyrie Velocity at the team’s home track at Virginia International Raceway and also used a recent SCCA race at Watkins Glen as a test to learn the track and setup.
***Lamborghini GT3 Junior Driver Tyler Cooke, who is teaming up with Dominic Starkweather in the sister Valkyrie Velocity Lamborghini this weekend as a Pro class entry, is no stranger to the team, having helped with setup and coaching at Laguna Seca.
***Andrew Pinkerton, who engineers the No. 30 ANSA Motorsports Lamborghini of Nico Jamin and Sebastian Saavedra, will be making his WeatherTech Championship debut this weekend as a driver, as part of MLT Motorsports’ lineup in the LMP3 class.
***Lamborghini has debuted a brand-new hospitality structure this weekend. The design, which rivals the one seen in Europe, will be trackside for the remaining Super Trofeo North America races this year.
***The second and final Super Trofeo race of the weekend gets underway at 11:10 a.m. EDT, with live coverage on Peacock, IMSA.tv and IMSA Radio.
