Michelin North America has named Raymond Cotton director of motorsports, effective Aug. 1, succeeding Jason Anzalone, who will become sales director for the B2B OE Transport Long Distance Business in North America.

“In his term, Jason accomplished several milestones to ensure continued success for motorsports in North America, while championing a strategic mindset for future endeavors,” said Matthieu Bonardel, global director for Michelin Group’s motorsports business entity.

“We appreciate his guidance and commitment to expanding the business with new products and partnerships.

“With more opportunities to accelerate technologies that serve the company’s aspirations, the North American motorsports team is poised to maintain their momentum as industry leaders thanks to his leadership.”

Anzalone helped advance Michelin’s involvement in IMSA, including establishing the new Mustang Challenge partnership and moving the Mazda MX-5 Cup to Michelin tires.

In his two years, Michelin Motorsports successfully launched new tires for the GTP and GTD classes.

He also led the renewal of the FEL Championship agreement for an additional three years, while continuing to increase sustainable initiatives within the tire construction and series allocations.

“I want to express my gratitude to the teams, partners, officials and fans for their crucial role in our brand achievements,” Anzalone stated.

“I am excited about the innovations under Raymond’s leadership and thank the Michelin Motorsports North America staff and volunteers for their continued dedication to excellence.”

Cotton has served in several positions during his 23-year Michelin career, most recently as CEO of Michelin Greener Fleets – a business launched from the Michelin Innovation Lab.

Cotton started his career with Michelin as a tire designer in 2001 and has worked in product development as a test driver.

After leading two-wheel racing for Michelin in North America, Cotton also spent time in product marketing, including new offer development for various business lines.
