Robert Noaker finished the second practice session of the Mustang Challenge weekend at Road America at the top of the times before a late red flag came out in the closing minutes.

The Robert Noaker Racing driver jumped to the top of the time sheets in his No. 13 Dark Horse class Ford Mustang Dark Horse R after his first flying lap, eventually improving on his time to lay down his session-topping 2:18.589 time on his fourth of ten total laps around the 4.048-mile road course.

Alex Bachoura proved second-fastest overall and quickest amongst Dark Horse Legends competitors for Spark Performance, 1.3 seconds down on Noaker’s benchmark time.

TechSport’s Devin Anderson laid down the third-fastest time overall and was second-best in DH with his best effort proving to be 1.532 seconds off the pace.

Sam Paley was fourth fastest overall in the No. 26 Mustang after making his return to the single-make championship this weekend, and finished ahead of RNR’s Sandy Satullo, who rounded out the top five in the 30-minute session.

Further down, Zachary Lee was the second-quickest DHL entrant, setting the seventh-best overall time of the session in his MMR machine.

The session ran largely incident-free until an off for Marcos Vento at Turn 14 brought out the red flag with four minutes remaining when he went off at Turn 14 in his No. 18 McCumbee McAleer Racing Dark horse R. Practice running did not resume.

At the start of the session, Stephen Vajda was handed a drive-through penalty for leaving his pit box early. Later on, Scott Thomson went off track in the No. 30 LAP Motorsports Mustang at Turn 13 and continued on without interrupting the session.

First qualifying is slated for 3:50 p.m. CST ahead of Saturday’s Race 1.
