Brandon Gdovic remained on top in Mustang Challenge practice action at Road America, with the Precision Performance Motorsports driver leading the way in the second session of the weekend.

Gdovic improved on Thursday’s chart-topping lap by setting a 2:23.221 time in his No. 46 Ford Mustang Dark Horse R on Friday morning at the four-mile Wisconsin circuit.

It was 0.216 seconds quicker than the No. 74 Robert Noaker Racing entry of Tyler Maxson, who returned to action after suffering a session-ending accident in Practice 1.

Maxson’s teammate, Robert Noaker, was third quickest, followed by Max Opalski and Sam Paley, who completed the top-five for Max Opalski Racing and Southern Paley Motorsports, respectively.

The session came to an early end for an accident by Dark Horse Legends points leader Zachry Lee, who made impact with the Turn 11 barriers with less than five minutes remaining in the 30-minute practice.

Lee had laid down the quickest time of the session prior to his incident, slotting in 11th overall in his No. 48 McCumbee McAleer Racing Mustang.

Mike Stillwagon was second quickest in DHL for Skip Barber Racing.

Mustang Challenge qualifying gets underway at 1:20 p.m. CDT.
