Dickinson Tops Thursday Practice at Road America

Riley Dickinson set the quickest time in the opening practice session for Porsche Carrera Cup North America presented by The Cayman Islands at Road America.

Dickinson, in the No. 53 Kelly-Moss Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, reeled off a best time of 2:09.715 in the 40-minute session to edge out points leader Kay van Berlo by 0.546 seconds.

Michael McCarthy made it a Kelly-Moss sweep, having set the third quickest time in his No. 7 Porsche, followed by Toronto winner Trenton Estep in the No. 6 MDK Motorsports entry in fourth.

Varun Choksey completed the top-five in the No. 13 Wright Motorsports Porsche.

Pro-Am was led by the No. 65 Kelly-Moss entry of Efrin Castro, who narrowly edged out teammate Alan Metni by 0.007 seconds.

Mark Kvamme, making his return to the single-make series after electing not to travel to Toronto, paced the Am class in his MDK entry.

There were no major incidents or red flags in the opening track action of the weekend for the IMSA Fastlane Sportscar Weekend.

Practice 2 is on tap for Friday at 8 a.m. CT followed by qualifying in the afternoon.
