Czabok-Simpson Motorsport has confirmed that Nikita Lastochkin will switch from IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge to Porsche Carrera Cup North America, becoming the first confirmed driver for its new multi-car effort in the IMSA-sanctioned single-make series.
Lastochkin, who has spent the last two seasons in CSM’s Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport in GS class competition, will become one of the first drivers to race the new Type-992.2 Porsche 911 Cup car when it debuts next year in selected Carrera Cup markets, including the North America series.
“I’m really excited to continue my journey with CSM,” said Lastochkin. “We’ve built a strong foundation together over the past two seasons in IMSA, and stepping into Carrera Cup feels like a natural next step. The level of competition is incredibly high, and I’m confident that with CSM’s expertise, we’ll be able to fight at the front.”
Team co-principal Matthias Czabok added: “Nikita has been an integral part of our team’s success and growth. His professionalism, technical feedback, and racecraft have raised our overall performance.
“We’re thrilled to continue that momentum with him in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America next year and look forward to a competitive season together.”
The Indianapolis-based team, co-owned by Czabok and WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race winner Stephen Simpson, previously announced an expansion to Carrera Cup for next year with a planned two-car operation.
