Alex Sedgwick claimed his first career Porsche Carrera Cup North America victory, holding off Loek Hartog to win the second race of the weekend at Watkins Glen International.

The PT Autosport-backed, JDX Racing driver led the entire 40-minute contest, half of which was under the safety car for an multi-car pileup at the start, having crossed the line 0.346 seconds ahead of Hartog’s No. 24 Kellymoss Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car.

Sedgwick, who moves up to second in the Pro class championship standings, became the sixth different Pro class winner in eight races this season, following Ryan Yardley’s maiden win on Friday.

Yardley completed the podium in third in Race 2, ahead of the No. 9 JDX Porsche of Zachary Vanier, with Dan Clarke completing the top-five for MDK Motorsports.

Pro-Am class honors went to Pedro Torres for ACI Motorsports ahead of teammate Marco Cirone.

Richard Edge came out on top in the Masters class after a late-race spin by Scott Blind that collected another competitor.

A total of eight cars were involved in a massive accident on the opening lap in the Esses, although all drivers climbed from their cars under their own power.

It resulted in a lengthy full-course caution for cleanup, which set up an 18-minute shootout to the finish.

RESULTS: Race 2
