The second IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge race of the weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park has been rescheduled for the upcoming Michelin GT Challenge event at Virginia International Raceway.

The Sunday race North of the Border was initially canceled by IMSA due to severe weather and logistical considerations, having initially planned to run the race after the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race that day.

Communicated to teams on Wednesday, the CTMP makeup race is set to take place on Fri. Aug. 22.

In order to accommodate the addition to the VIR weekend, IMSA has combined Practice 1 and Practice 2 into a single 55-minute practice session.

Per a bulletin from IMSA, only the original team/driver/car combinations entered for the CTMP event will be eligible to participate in the makeup race.

The grid, as previously determined at CTMP, also applies, while teams will be allocated one additional set of Michelin tires for the event.

The makeup race is set for Fri. Aug. 22 at 4:55-5:40 p.m. EST, prior to the combined practice session and qualifying for the pair of originally scheduled VIR races that will occur earlier in the day.
