Al Harthy, Bovy Regain Bronze Ratings After Appeal

Ahmad Al Harthy and Sarah Bovy have regained their Bronze driver ratings after successfully appealing an adjustment to Silver for the 2024 season.

The two FIA World Endurance Championship drivers are amongst several drivers that have been reclassified after appealing their initial adjustment, which was published at the beginning of October.

Drivers had a one-week period to appeal the decision after it was released, where they were required to produce “relevant data” to the driver rating committee for consideration.

Further changes have affected a number of notable drivers in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, with three drivers bumped from Silver to Gold that were not on the original list.

They include Madison Snow, who is expected to remain with Paul Miller Racing as the team steps up to GTD Pro next year, as well as Scott Huffaker and The Heart of Racing’s Roman De Angelis.

Alex Quinn, who is set to join Ben Keating and Ben Hanley at United Autosports for the Michelin Endurance Cup rounds, is also shown as having been upgraded from Silver to Gold. However, a United Autosports spokesperson told Sportscar365 that Quinn’s appeal has not yet been reviewed by the FIA.

Current WEC LMP2 driver Sean Gelael, meanwhile, has seen a previous adjustment to Gold reversed and will remain a Silver-rated driver next year. The same also applies to DTM racer Clemens Schmid and GR Racing GTE-Am driver Riccardo Pera.
