FIA releases 2024 driver rating list; multiple adjustments set for next year…

Multiple drivers have been reclassified as part of the FIA’s driver ratings list for 2024, which was released on Tuesday.

The publication of the list follows an initial list of drivers that were under review, which was sent to competitors earlier this year.

Driver ratings are used to group similar drivers together, enabling championships around the world to impose lineup regulations in their respective classes, particularly Pro-Am-enforced categories.

They are enforced in series such as the FIA World Endurance Championship, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Intercontinental GT Challenge, Fanatec GT World Challenge powered by AWS and numerous other regional and national sports car racing championships.

Drivers have a one-week period to appeal the decisions, where they’ll have to “produce the relevant data” to the driver rating committee for consideration.
