Aston Martin will introduce an updated version of its Vantage GT3 car that will be available for customer teams to race in the 2024 season.

Confirmed alongside the announcement of a revived Valkyrie LMH program, the British manufacturer will refresh its flagship GT racing product with the first major upgrade since its introduction in 2019.

Aston Martin Racing has described the car as “all-new” although the company’s Head of Endurance Motorsport Adam Carter clarified during the LMH launch event that it “will be developed under Evo regulations.”

Development of a Vantage GT3 Evo kit is known to have been in progress for several months, while Sportscar365 understands that the car could take design cues from a future facelift of the road-going Vantage. A name for the updated car hasn’t been stated.

It is expected to be available as an additional kit for existing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 customers to buy, or as a brand-new vehicle.

The 2024 car, which is set to use the same chassis and engine as its predecessor, will replace the current-gen Vantage which first raced in GTE specification in the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2018.

The GT3 version made its debut a year later and the two models were designed to be convertible.

Both platforms went on to achieve success, with the works Aston Martin Racing squad taking a GTE-Pro class victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2020.

The Aston Martin Vantage GT3 car won the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD class title with The Heart of Racing, and also took a podium at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa with Garage 59.

AMR has stated that the updated 2024 car will confirm to ‘all existing and new’ GT racing rulesets, including the LMGT3 class set to debut in WEC next year, as well as the WeatherTech Championship and Fanatec GT competition in Europe, the U.S. and Asia.

Aston Martin is one of several brands hoping to secure a place on the LMGT3 grid next year, with partner teams The Heart of Racing and D’station Racing expressing interest.

Andretti Autosport meanwhile revealed plans to Sportscar365 to campaign the car in a full-season WeatherTech Championship capacity.

Cars will be available for purchase to customers in time for the 2024 season, with details on pricing yet to be revealed.

Additionally, an updated GT4 car also based on the Vantage platform will be rolled out next year.
