An all-new BMW M4 GT4 is currently under development for launch in 2023 according to BMW Motorsport director Mike Krack.
The car, based on the new G82-model road car, will replace the current F82-generation GT4 car that debuted in 2018 and has collected numerous wins and championships around the world in various GT4 championships.
Krack indicated that on-track testing for the car will begin in the coming months ahead of a full customer rollout in 2023.
“The plan is to bring a new GT4 in 2023,” he told Sportscar365. “Testing will begin soon.
“It’s a great car and looks really nice. SRO does the homologation so it’s super important that we do these [cars, along with the GT3] together with them. We are busy.”
BMW gave its new-for-2022 M4 GT3 its SRO race debut in last weekend’s Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup season finale at Barcelona, with a similar plan likely to be in place for the GT4 model that is on a development path one year later than its GT3 counterpart.
