Former Dallara and Ferrari executive Andrea Reggiani has been named Lamborghini’s new head of motorsport, effective immediately, ahead of this weekend’s race debut for the Lamborghini Temerario GT3 in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

Reggiani, who will report to Lamborghini chief technical officer Rouven Mohr, fills the position vacated by Maurizio Leschiutta late last year.

An Italian-Swiss engineer by trade, Reggiani spent ten years at Ferrari in various positions, including head of Corse Clienti and the director of motorsports for Ferrari North America, before joining Dallara in 2018 as its chief commercial officer for the Italian manufacturer’s first-ever road car, the Stradale.

“It is a true honor to join Lamborghini as head of motorsport,” he said. “I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me and proud to join a company with such extraordinary heritage and that represents passion, performance and bold innovation at the highest level.

“Together with the talented people who make Lamborghini unique, I look forward to building on this strong foundation and help writing the next chapter in our racing history striving for new milestones that will excite our clients, our partners and our fans around the world.”

Automobili Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann added: “I would like to wish Andrea Reggiani every success in his new role.

“I am confident that his commitment will bring added value to Lamborghini’s motorsports activities, which for our brand remains an important laboratory for the development of new technologies.

“Andrea’s arrival in our family coincides with the debut of the Temerario GT3, and the initial development phases of the Lamborghini Temerario Super Trofeo which, from next year, will form the basis of three single-make championships in Europe, Asia, and North America.”

In addition to managing the motorsport activities of Lamborghini Squadra Corse, Reggiani will also look after Lamborghini’s track day Essenza SCV12 program.

Meanwhile, Lamborghini has confirmed that Erik Skirmants (North America), Federica Teneggi (Europe) and Francesco Scardoni (Asia-Pacific) will each continue in their roles as motorsport coordinators in their respective regions, which includes the three single-make Lamborghini Super Trofeo series.

Super Trofeo North America kicks off its season this weekend, also at Sebring.
