Alessio Rovera has signed a multi-year contract extension with Ferrari to remain part of the Prancing Horse’s roster of factory drivers.

Announced on Tuesday, the 30-year-old becomes the latest driver on Ferrari’s books to commit to a new deal, with Hypercar driver Antonio Giovinazzi also signing a contract extension earlier this month.

Although Rovera was named a factory driver for Ferrari at the end of 2021, his relationship with the brand began in the Italian GT Championship in 2020, the same year in which he made his European Le Mans Series debut in the Portimao finale.

He went on to compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship the following year, taking both the GTE-Am title as well as a 24 Hours of Le Mans class win alongside Francois Perrodo and Nicklas Nielsen.

Rovera has remained active in WEC ever since, most recently taking an LMGT3 class win at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, and also won the drivers’ championship in GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup last year.

“I am truly happy and proud to be able to continue my journey with Ferrari,” said Rovera.

“Wearing these colours and representing such a prestigious name in international competitions is both an honour and a great responsibility.

“Over the years, we have achieved significant milestones together, and I am motivated to give my all to keep improving and chasing new victories.

“I want to thank Ferrari for their trust and support. I look forward to taking on the next challenges together.”
