Morris Schuring has been named a Porsche-contacted driver ahead of a program in DTM with Manthey EMA.

The Dutchman, who took last year’s LMGT3 class win in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, will join Porsche’s roster of drivers as he heads into his sixth year of racing with the Stuttgart marque.

He first debuted in Porsche one-make machinery in 2020, notably becoming the youngest-ever race winner in both the Porsche Supercup and Porsche Carrera Cup Germany in 2023.

He made his GT3 debut in 2024, driving for Manthey EMA in the FIA World Endurance Championship and winning at Le Mans, as well as capturing an additional class victory in the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

Schuring also competed in the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa with Herberth Motorsport, retiring with a driveshaft issue.

The 19-year-old will make his DTM debut with Manthey EMA later this year, driving a third car alongside Thomas Preining and Ayhancan Guven.

“Ever since I was a young boy it has been my dream to be allowed to race for Porsche, ever since my father raced on the Nordschleife in a Porsche,” said Schuring.

“When I started karting, it was also my aim to be able to drive Porsches myself. That was also the main reason why I did not choose single seaters, but immediately went down the road of GTs and Porsche one-make series.

“I became the youngest race winner in both the German Carrera Cup and the Supercup and aimed to be selected for the ‘shootout’ for the position of Porsche Motorsport Junior Driver.

“I succeeded in 2023 on behalf of the German cup. I had good credentials, but was ultimately not chosen, which was a big disappointment.

“Thankfully, there was an alternative in the FIA WEC with Manthey.  Of course, it is fantastic that the connections with Porsche have now led to an official contract!

“It is a great honor to follow in the footsteps of someone like Gijs van Lennep. I will do everything in my power to live up to the confidence Porsche has placed in me.”
