Morris Schuring will make his DTM debut, joining Manthey EMA as the German squad expands to three cars for the first time in the series.
The reigning 24 Hours of Le Mans LMGT3 class winner will pilot a Porsche 911 GT3 R for the eight-round series, which kicks off at Oschersleben in April.
Schuring’s car will be run under the ‘Manthey Junior Team’ banner, with the number and livery to be revealed at a later date.
Manthey’s other two cars, meanwhile, will be driven by the unchanged pairing of Thomas Preining and Ayhancan Guven.
“For me, the DTM has always been one of the series I wanted to drive in,” said Schuring. “It’s a dream come true and I’m particularly proud to be doing it with Manthey.
“They are one of the best teams, which they’ve proven by winning the 2023 DTM title.
“Last year we won Le Mans together and I am happy to now be working with them in a sprint series as well.
“I love sprint racing and the DTM gives me the opportunity to really prove myself as a driver.
“Thanks to my experience in the Porsche Carrera Cup, I already know seven of the DTM circuits – only the Norisring will be new to me.
“I’m super motivated and have been working very hard over the winter to be prepared as best as I can.
“I am also very proud to now call Ayhancan and Thomas my teammates. I know them from previous races, they’re both great drivers and I respect them a lot.”
After a championship double in 2023, which saw Preining take the drivers’ championship for the first time, Manthey experienced a more challenging season last year.
Preining scored one race win at the Lausitzring, with Manthey slipping to sixth in the teams’ championship.
“After our expectations were not met in 2024, but we were very satisfied with our team’s performance, we are looking forward to competing in the DTM in 2025 with an even stronger line-up,” said Nicolas Raeder, Manthey Racing managing director.
“In our third season in the series, we want to fully attack again.
“I am delighted that Ayhancan and Thomas will be staying with our team and hope that this year’s results will reflect the very good cooperation.
“Morris had a very successful WEC season in 2024. He is a young driver who has really impressed us with his performances, so the next logical step is the DTM.”
