TKO Motorsports has purchased a Ford Mustang GT3 ahead of a yet-to-be-announced sports car racing program in 2026.
The Sonoma, Calif.-based team, which won the 2023 GT America powered by AWS SRO3 class championship with Memo Gidley, made the announcement Friday evening at Monterey Car Week.
“TKO Motorsports is honored to join the Ford family and its rich racing heritage,” said team owner Dave Traitel.
“Ford has excelled on the track with the Ford Mustang for more than six decades, leading into such an exciting era of Mustang GT3. When I think of Ford, I think ‘victory.’
“Every decision I’ve made has been with 110 percent effort and passion for the sport. It is a shared mentality with Ford Performance, and we look forward to bringing our best with each and every lap.”
The team has yet to announce further details of its 2026 program, which could be a campaign in IMSA or SRO America competition.
TKO becomes Ford Performance’s third U.S.-based Mustang GT3 customer, joining Gradient Racing and Dollahite Racing, which compete in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and GT World Challenge America powered by AWS, respectively.
“We’re excited to welcome TKO Motorsports to the Mustang GT3 family,” said Ford Performance global sports car manager Alex Allmandinger.
“Their championship pedigree and our proven platform – with significant class wins of the Rolex 24 at Daytona and ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring — underscore the strength of our customer racing program.
“It’s built on great partnerships, and we’re proud to keep growing that foundation.”
