GetSpeed Performance has revealed an overhaul of its lineup for its second car in the Asian Le Mans Series, announcing a partnership with the Qatar Motor & Motorcycle Federation that will feature Mercedes-AMG factory driver Lucas Auer.
Auer will share the No. 37 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo with Abdulla Ali Al-Khelaifi and Ghanim Salah Al-Maadheed, with the car set to be entered under the QMMF by GetSpeed banner.
GetSpeed initially had Anthony Liu listed as the sole driver aboard the No. 37 car when the provisional full season entry list was released in September.
Instead, the Chinese Bronze-rated driver has been replaced as Al-Khelaifi and Al-Maadheed return to Asian Le Mans competition to cap off their debut season in GT3 racing.
Last year, they made their series debut in the Dubai-Abu Dhabi double header in a Herberth Motorsport-run Porsche 911 GT3 R.
After this, QMMF joined forces with Sainteloc Racing for a full season in GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, with Al-Khelaifi and Al-Maadheed forming part of a rotating lineup that also included Ibrahim Al-Abdulghani and Julian Hanses.
Auer, for his part, returns to the championship after contesting a partial season with Climax Racing last year.
GetSpeed’s other Mercedes-AMG entry will be piloted by Anthony Bartone, Steve Jans and Fabian Schiller.
The Asian Le Mans Series season kicks off at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia on Dec. 13-14.
