Carl Wattana Bennett will team up with his father Gregory to pilot an Absolute Racing-run Ferrari 296 GT3 in the Asian Le Mans Series, which kicks off next month.
The father-and-son duo will share the No. 23 Ferrari, which will be entered under the ‘Amerasian Fragrance by Absolute Racing’ banner, with New Zealander Chris van der Drift.
The 2024-25 Asian Le Mans Series campaign kicks off with a double header at Sepang International Circuit on Dec. 7-8, followed by further rounds at Dubai Autodrome and Yas Marina Circuit.
It will mark the first time that Bennett, who has competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship and European Le Mans Series, will share a car with his father.
The 2024 season saw the 20-year-old make his Hypercar debut as part of the Isotta Fraschini LMH effort, taking part in four races alongside Jean-Karl Vernay and Antonio Serravalle before the team withdrew its entry ahead of the Lone Star Le Mans round.
He also joined Cool Racing’s LMP2 effort in ELMS, finishing on the podium in the Portimao finale, and made a guest appearance in the Mustang Challenge at Watkins Glen.
Van der Drift, meanwhile, has spent the last few years competing in various single-make series, notably winning the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia title with Absolute last year.
