George Kurtz, Malthe Jakobsen and Louis Deletraz took back-to-back victories in the second of two Asian Le Mans Series races in Dubai, leading a 1-2 for Algarve Pro Racing in the process.
The No. 4 CrowdStrike Racing by APR Oreca 07 Gibson crossed the line 1.638 seconds ahead of the No. 25 car of Michael Jensen, Enzo Trulli and Tom Dillmann.
Cetilar Racing completed the podium as Roberto Lacorte, Charles Milesi and Antonio Fuoco picked up third place after the No. 30 RD Limited Oreca had to stop for fuel in the closing minutes of the race.
For APR, Kurtz and Jakobsen, the victory further adds to an already remarkable start to the 2026 season, with the back-to-back triumphs at the Dubai Autodrome adding to an LMP2 class win at the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
The race on Sunday started with early drama in the LMP2 ranks as polesitter Giorgio Roda was eliminated from contention in the opening exchanges due to a gearshift issue on the No. 5 United Autosports Oreca.
From there, the three APR-run cars gradually assumed control of the race, occupying the top three positions when a crash for the 23Events Racing Ligier JS P325 Toyota of Louis Stern brought out the safety car with 90 minutes completed.
Once the race resumed, Jakobsen took the restart in third place but rapidly fought his way past stablemates Matthias Kaiser and Enzo Trulli to capture first place.
The three APR cars continued to battle with both the No. 47 Cetilar Racing and No. 30 RD Limited cars into the second half of the race, although the latter had its run impacted by a puncture for James Allen that forced the French squad to go off strategy.
The AF Corse-run Cetilar entry, which won the opening two races in Malaysia, then appeared to gain the upper hand as Fuoco leapfrogged Deletraz during the penultimate round of stops to gain the lead.
However, Cadillac GTP ace Deletraz made quick work of Ferrari Hypercar star Fuoco with a bold pass into Turn 10 with 45 minutes remaining, with the latter pitting for fuel and fresh tires just a handful of minutes later along with the No. 25 car of Dillmann.
However, all three were leapfrogged by the No. 20 Oreca in the hands of Sami Meguetounif, who opted not to take tires at the final stop and emerged on track ahead of all of them and only behind the off-sequence No. 30 RD Limited car of Tristan Vautier.
Deletraz, however, fought his way back past Meguetounif at Turn 12 and then regained the lead from Vautier just a handful of laps later.
Vautier would go on to pit for fuel with two minutes remaining, while Fuoco fought his way past Meguetounif to capture the final spot on the podium.
Meguetounif, Kaiser and John Falb finished fourth, with Vautier, Allen and James Sweetnam fifth for RD Limited ahead the No. 49 High Class Racing Oreca driven by Jens Reno Moller, Theodor Jensen and Gustavo Menezes.
23Events Racing Wins Dramatic Three-Way Fight in LMP3; Team WRT Victorious in GT
In the LMP3 category, 23Events Racing came out on top in dramatic fashion, bouncing back from a freak on-track stoppage to beat Forestier Racing by VPS and CLX Motorsport to take the class win.
A charging drive from Matus Ryba, who shared the No. 71 Ligier with Terrence Woodward and Ibrahim Badawy, saw the French squad storm up to the lead twice, winning a race that saw its sister No. 23 machine eliminated by a crash in the first half of an incident-packed contest.
As the latter stages of the race progressed, it appeared like the battle for class victory would be fought between Forestier Racing driver Luciano Morano and CLX racer Alexander Jacoby.
However, with less than 30 minutes remaining, Ryba stormed up to the lead by passing both drivers in quick succession, only to lose it again when the No. 71 car stopped on track.
It would soon resume and as Morano battled to keep Jacoby at bay, Ryba again closed rapidly and overtook both cars for a second time in the dying minutes of the race to claim a comeback win.
Morano, Nick Adcock and Lucas Fecury finished second, with the gap between the No. 29 machine and the No. 17 CLX Ligier of Jacoby, Kevin Rabin and Paul Lanchere just 0.335 seconds at the line.
In the GT category, Anthony McIntosh, Parker Thompson and Dan Harper bounced back from their Saturday retirement to take the win, with Harper keeping newly crowned Rolex 24 at Daytona winner Laurin Heinrich at bay to secure the win.
The No. 69 Team WRT BMW M4 GT3 EVO and No. 87 Origine Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 R ran at the head of the GT field throughout the race, which began in dramatic circumstances with the early elimination of the class polesitter.
The No. 37 QMMF by GetSpeed Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Abdulla Ali Al-Khelaifi ran at the head of the field when, towards the end of the opening hour, it was hit by Ajith Kumar’s No. 8 Team Virage Ligier as it locked up and spun under braking at Turn 14.
WRT eventually gained the upper hand in the final hour, with Harper crossing the line 0.881 seconds ahead of Heinrich while the No. 10 Manthey Porsche of Antares Au, Loek Hartog and Klaus Bachler completed the class podium.
