Dinamic Motorsport has committed to the Asian Le Mans Series with a Porsche 911 GT3 R, adding a 27th entry to the bustling GT category.
The Italian squad has outlined plans for its Asian LMS debut in the four-round February campaign, with FIA World Endurance Championship regular Ben Barker leading the driver lineup.
GR Racing Porsche GTE-Am ace Barker will team up with Giorgio Roda, who usually competes in Ferrari GT3 machinery, and Austrian driver Philipp Sager who represented Dinamic in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup’s Pro-Am class last year.
Roda is the only member of the Dinamic crew to have raced in the UAE-based 2021 Asian LMS season, with Kessel Racing in a Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020.
Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS race winner Dinamic recently entered the Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai and will add the Asian LMS races at Dubai and Yas Marina to its winter diary ahead of the European sports car racing season.
In a statement announcing its Asian LMS participation, the team declared its intentions of entering the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the future.
Next month’s GT class champion will earn an automatic invitation to the next Le Mans edition in June, however the ACO has scrapped the system for awarding multiple entries based on grid size.
“It’s our first participation in this championship: a first, but [a] fundamental step towards a dream called [the] 24 Hours of Le Mans, which will open to GT3 cars starting in 2024,” read the statement.
Dinamic is the second GT3 outfit to join the Asian LMS grid following the publication of a 39-car full-season entry list.
Attempto Racing has also committed to a GT category that includes entries from teams running Audi, Porsche, Mercedes-AMG, McLaren, Ferrari, Aston Martin and BMW machinery.
