Eurasia Motorsport will double its efforts for the final two Asian Le Mans Series rounds of the 2015/2016 season, with the team having confirmed a second Oreca 03R Nissan that will debut in next month’s round at Buriram in Thailand.
Indonesian driver Sean Gelael and open-wheel rising star Antonio Giovinazzi will pilot the No. 9 car, which contested this year’s European Le Mans Series season with the Philippines-based squad.
The new Asian LMS entry run under the Jagony Ayam with Eurasia banner, bringing the LMP2 car count to four entries in the championship.
Richard Bradley and William Lok will continue to drive the team’s No. 99 Oreca-Nissan, in what is expected to be a 20-plus car grid for the third round of the championship on Jan. 8-10.
“Both Sean and Antonio started their racing careers with us and it’s great that just three years on we are back together in LMP2,” said team principal Mark Goddard.
“They make a very strong driver line up and we believe we have a very good chance of winning. The car looks stunning in the Jagony Ayam yellow and red colours and normally good looking cars are fast.”
Eurasia recently announced plans to run an Oreca 05 Nissan in the ELMS next year, having signed Tristan Gommendy as its lead driver for the program.
