2012 World Touring Car champion Rob Huff and Audi factory driver Dries Vanthoor will both drive Audi R8 LMS GT3s in this weekend’s Asian Le Mans Series opener.
Huff will share one of the Tianshi Racing Team run cars with Italy’s Max Wiser and China’s Xu Wei in the Four Hours of Shanghai on Nov. 25.
It will mark the Englishman’s first GT appearance since the 2016 Nurburgring 24 Hours, when he drove a Mercedes AMG-GT3 entered by Black Falcon.
Current WTCR racer Huff is set to perform double-duty in Shanghai with the China Touring Car Championship sharing the weekend’s bill of action.
Meanwhile, Vanthoor has been named in the sister Tianshi Audi along with Dennis Zhang and Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup Am + champion David Chen.
Tianshi Racing Team is returning to the Asian Le Mans Series with an expanded two-car entry in 2018-19
Wiser and Chen spearheaded its full-season effort last year, where it ran a single Audi in the four-round championship.
The team will compete for the GT title, which carries an automatic 24 Hours of Le Mans invite, against the likes of Red River by TF Sport, Spirit of Race and CarGuy Racing which have already confirmed their driver lineups.
