Malthe Jakobsen set the fastest time for CrowdStrike Racing by APR in a rain-hit second Free Practice session for the 4 Hours of Sepang.

The Peugeot Hypercar driver posted a 1:55.667 aboard the No. 4 Oreca 07 Gibson, which was an early lap that remained the benchmark for the remainder of the session as a downpour made further improvements impossible.

Jakobsen’s best effort was 0.532 seconds quicker than the No. 20 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca of John Falb, with Marino Sato third aboard the No. 45 Ponos Racing entry.

Alexander Mattschull slotted into fourth aboard the No. 3 DKR Engineering Oreca, ahead of Cetilar Racing’s Roberto Lacorte and Fred Poordad in the No. 30 RD Limited machine.

Paul Lanchere led the way in LMP3 with a best effort of 2:04.114 aboard the No. 17 CLX Motorsport Ligier JS P325 Toyota, 0.192 seconds clear of Romain Vozniak’s No. 8 Team Virage car.

Fabien Michal and Nick Adcock picked up third and fourth for R-Ace GP and Forestier Racing by VPS, respectively.

GetSpeed led the GT category with a 1-2 for its pair of Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evos, spearheaded by the No. 9 car in the hands of Shigekazu Wakisaka.

The Japanese racer reeled off a 2:08.014, 0.380 seconds faster Abdulla Ali Al-Khelaifi in the sister car, run under the QMMF by GetSpeed banner.

Yasser Shahin slotted into third at the wheel of the No. 66 JMR Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R ahead of Giacomo Petrobelli in the No. 56 Ecurie Ecosse Blackthorn Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo.

Qualifying for this weekend’s pair of four-hour races is scheduled for Saturday at 9:15 a.m. local time (Friday 8:15 p.m. ET).
