Seth Lucas and Dennis Andersen have been confirmed as drivers for High Class Racing and MDK Motorsports’ LMP2 entry in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2024.
The 17-year-old rising star, who competed full-time in Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS this year, will make the step up to the prototype ranks on a full-time basis, after contesting three rounds in a Ave Motorsports-run Ligier JS P320 Nissan.
Lucas is the first confirmed driver for the new High Class/MDK alliance that was announced last week.
“It’s exciting to be back in the high-speed world of the prototype class,” said Lucas. “Racing for MDK Motorsports is an exciting venture for me and one that I’m glad to continue being a part of for the upcoming 2024 season.
MDK team owner Mark Kvamme added: “Seth joined MDK as a very new driver and demonstrated remarkable progress on track while consistently prioritizing both speed and preserving the car.
“I have never seen a driver develop so rapidly without damaging the car. I look forward to watching his continued progress this season.”
Andersen, the team’s designated Bronze-rated driver, will return to the Barcelona-based squad for a third consecutive season but first under the new partnership.
Lucas, meanwhile, is set to dovetail his WeatherTech Championship commitments with a run in the 2023-24 Asian Le Mans Series, sharing a Ligier LMP3 entry with High Class team owner Anders Fjordbach.
The Asian LMS season kicks off with a pair of four-hour races in Sepang in early December.
