Tom Dillmann is set to return to racing at the upcoming European Le Mans Series round at Spa-Francorchamps, with the Frenchman confirming that he has been cleared to compete after undergoing surgery in the wake of a crash at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
Dillmann suffered a vertebrae injury when an apparent mechanical failure pitched him into the wall in the closing stages of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship round at the Canadian circuit last month.
The 36-year-old underwent surgery in the wake of the crash and was replaced for the next round at Road America by BMW factory driver Connor De Phillippi.
Dillmann confirmed via a post on social media on Wednesday that he has been cleared to return to competition and is set to rejoin Inter Europol Competition at the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on Aug. 24.
The Frenchman will share the No. 43 Oreca 07 Gibson with Kuba Smiechowski and Nick Yelloly, having taken two consecutive podiums at Paul Ricard and Imola.
