Duqueine Engineering has lost its LMP3 class win from the Four Hours of Red Bull Ring to a penalty for pit stop times, giving the victory to United Autosports.
The No. 19 Ligier JS P3 Nissan of David Droux, Dino Lunardi and David Hallyday initially took its first European Le Mans Series win of the season on Sunday, ahead of Alex Brundle, Christian England and Mike Guasch’s No. 2 United Autosports car.
The No. 2 car came to Austria with a 100 percent success rate following wins at Silverstone and Imola so far this season.
However, Duqueine Engineering has now lost its class win, in breach of article 10.8.9 of the ELMS Sporting Regulations, because it didn’t respect minimum pit stop reference times.
The car has been awarded a four-second time penalty for this, enough to drop it behind the No. 2 United Autosports car in the final standings.
This gives the No. 2 car its third win out of three races so far this season.
