Former Asian Le Mans Series champion Valerio Rinicella and European Le Mans Series regular Laurents Horr have been signed to Genesis’ ‘Trajectory Program’ and will partner Jamie Chadwick at IDEC Sport in the ELMS this season.
The Genesis-supported Oreca 07 Gibson was one of the stars of the ELMS last year as Chadwick, Mathys Jaubert and Dani Juncadella finished third in the standings with IDEC in a campaign that was designed to help prepare Genesis for its 2026 entry into the FIA World Endurance Championship.
The nature of the ‘Trajectory Program’ is now described as changing with the focus switching fully to helping develop drivers who could potentially form part of Genesis’ Hypercar lineup in the future and blends a mix of youth and experience.
Rinicella will be returning to endurance racing this year after finishing as runner-up in the Eurocup-3 single-seater contest last season. He won the Asian LMS title in 2024-25 with Algarve Pro Racing.
“Being part of the Genesis Magma Racing Trajectory Program is an incredible feeling,” said Rinicella, 19.
“I’m very happy to begin my journey with them — it’s a great opportunity to learn, grow and develop in the right environment.”
Horr, meanwhile, is an established figure in the LMP2 ranks after claiming the ELMS LMP3 crown in 2021.
The 28-year-old has twice finished on the LMP2 Pro-Am class podium at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and finished ninth in the ELMS LMP2 Pro-Am standings last year with DKR Engineering.
“It’s a massive step forward in my career,” said Horr, who previously drove for IDEC in the ELMS in 2023. “I’m really honoured to join the programme and couldn’t be looking forward more to racing this year together with the team, Valerio and Jamie.
“It will be a really good combination between youth and experience with the three of us.”
Genesis Magma Racing sporting director Gabriele Tarquini added: “The first year of the Genesis Magma Racing Trajectory Program was incredibly successful, both for results on track in the European Le Mans Series and in preparing Genesis Magma Racing for the FIA World Endurance Championship.
“However, for 2026 we need to change the focus of the program; to concentrate on supporting talented drivers, with the target that they should, one day, be able to step up to the WEC.
“We saw what Jamie was capable of last year, and Valerio and Laurents have also shown great pace and potential in multiple categories, including at different levels and series in prototype competition.
“Together with the experienced team at IDEC Sport, I am sure they have a strong season ahead of them where they can continue to make progress in their careers.”
