United Autosports has added Marino Sato to its LMP2 Pro-Am squad in the European Le Mans Series, with the Japanese driver effectively replacing Andy Meyrick.

Sato will pilot the No. 21 Oreca 07 Gibson alongside the continuing pairing of Daniel Schneider and Oliver Jarvis.

The 25-year-old is set to again embark on a double program, having already been confirmed as part of United’s McLaren LMGT3 effort in the FIA World Endurance Championship next year.

“I am really pleased to continue my European Le Mans Series campaign with United Autosports, in addition to our WEC programme,” said Sato.

“I have to thank everyone who supports me and to the team for their trust.

“I had a great season in ELMS with Oliver in 2023, and I’ve been watching Daniel’s hard work and improvements this year. I am sure we can achieve strong results together.”

Sato formed part of United’s headline LMP2 lineup alongside Ben Hanley and Filip Ugran this past season, scoring a podium en route to tenth in the drivers’ standings.

In moving across to the Pro-Am squad, Sato will be reunited with Jarvis for the first time since their successful 2023 campaign, where they scored three overall LMP2 wins en route to second in the championship.

The team confirmed that it will continue to also field the No. 22 Oreca, scaling back to two cars in ELMS as a result, but adding a single-car McLaren LMGT3 effort.
