TDS Set to Start ELMS Season With Morgan-Nissan

Thiriet by TDS Racing is poised to start the European Le Mans Series season with a Morgan-Nissan before transitioning to the new Ligier JS P2 prototype later in the year, it has been revealed. (En Français)

The French squad, led by Xavier Combet and Jacques Morello, announced a switch to Onroak Automotive- developed machinery earlier this month. It comes after campaigning an Oreca 03 Nissan for the last three seasons, which included winning the 2012 ELMS LMP2 teams’ championship.

With the all-new closed-top Ligier prototype only scheduled to begin on-track testing mid-next month, it leaves little time for the French constructor to deliver a car prior to the season-opening round at Silverstone on April 19.

It’s the team’s intentions to have the new car by no later than the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as one of at least two Ligiers on the grid for the twice-around-the-clock French endurance classic.

Tristan Gommendy will join Pierre Thiriet and Ludovic Badey for the five-round championship, plus Le Mans.
