Norma Fastest in Le Mans Cup Test at Portimao

The Norma M30 Nissan of M.Racing – YMR was fastest on both days of Michelin Le Mans Cup preseason testing at Portimao this weekend.

Yann Ehrlacher set the quickest time of the test on Sunday afternoon, with a lap time of 1:39.281 around the Portuguese circuit.

YMR’s Norma – the only such car present at the test – topped all four sessions over the course of the weekend, while Ross Warburton and RLR Msport were the second-fastest with the No. 14 Ligier JS P3 Nissan.

Gulf Racing was the quickest of the GT3 competitors, with the British team also leading all four sessions.

The No. 20 Porsche 911 GT3 R driven by Ben Barker and Andrew Baker set its fastest time on Sunday morning, going less than three seconds slower than the LMP3 pacesetters with a 1:41.902.

Andrea Belicchi and Cedric Mezard were second-best out of the GT3 runners, in their SVS Sport Management-run Lamborghini Huracan GT3.

The first round of the second season of the Le Mans Cup will take place in support of the European Le Mans Series Four Hours of Monza on May 13-14.
