Gianmaria Bruni has been dropped from Porsche’s factory roster of drivers following an eight-year stint with the German manufacturer.

Announced during Saturday’s Porsche ‘Night of Champions’ awards event, Porsche is set to have a reduced roster of works pilots next year.

The 43-year-old Italian, who joined Porsche from Ferrari, raced with the Porsche 911 RSR and took GTE-Pro class honors at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2022 before stepping into Proton Competition’s privateer Porsche 963 for the last two years in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Bruni, however, could still remain at the wheel of a Porsche 963 next year, having been tipped to replace the retiring Richard Westbrook in JDC-Miller Motorsports’ GTP class entry alongside Tijmen van der Helm.

He tested the bright yellow Porsche in last month’s IMSA-sanctioned test at Daytona International Speedway with van der Helm, Chris Miller and ABB FIA Formula E champion Pascal Wehrlein.

In addition to Bruni, Andre Lotterer, Dane Cameron and Fred Makowiecki, who were all part of Porsche Penske Motorsport’s factory 963 effort, have also departed as expected.

As previously announced, Julian Andlauer has been promoted to full-factory status, alongside Nico Mueller, who joins the German manufacturer’s Formula E program.

It has resulted in a 14-driver strong factory roster for 2025.

Ex-Audi factory driver Ricardo Feller, meanwhile, has been named as a Porsche-contracted driver and will race for the Allied Racing squad in DTM next year in a two-car effort with former Porsche Junior Bastian Buus.

A total of 18 drivers are Porsche-contracted drivers next year, including the previously confirmed Michelle Gatting as part of a new joint venture with Iron Dames.
