Cadillac Racing has strengthened its technical team ahead of the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and FIA World Endurance Championship seasons, with the appointment of a dedicated technical director and propulsion manager.
Ex-Ferrari Formula 1 race engineer Xavier Marcos Padros (pictured above, left) has been named technical director, while Sean O’Shea (pictured right) has become the brand’s motorsport propulsion manager.
They join Keely Bosn, who was announced as Cadillac Racing’s program manager late last year, taking one of the roles from former GM sports car racing program manager Laura Wontrop Klauser, who has been re-assigned within General Motors.
Padros, who started his motorsports career with the GP2 BCN Racing Team, moved to HRT in F1 as a performance engineer from 2010-12 before joining Williams Racing, also as a performance engineer.
He was chief race engineer with Richard Childress Racing’s NASCAR Cup Series from 2015-17 before returning to F1 in 2018, as a race engineer, most recently for Charles Leclerc.
O’Shea, meanwhile, has history with Bosch Motorsport and most recently served as the engineering manager for the Blazer EV Police program, leading the development of the industry’s first pursuit-rated electric vehicle.
Both new appointments will be part of Cadillac’s expanded three-car WeatherTech Championship V-Series.R effort that begins with this weekend’s Roar Before the Rolex 24, ahead of the WEC season-opening Qatar 1812 km next month.
