Corvette Racing has confirmed that it will run a yellow livery on its No. 64 Chevrolet Corvette C8.R in its first full season of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
The solo Corvette GTE-Pro entry, to be driven by Tommy Milner and Nick Tandy, was initially believed to sport the team’s predominately silver design due to its car number designation.
However, renders released by the American manufacturer have confirmed that both its full-season WEC and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship entries will be yellow.
“Corvette Racing is all about tradition,” Milner said. “Part of that tradition is more than 20 years of racing yellow Corvettes.
“The fans absolutely love it. Sebring will almost be like going home for me… Back in a yellow Corvette.
“It’s a great way to start our first full FIA WEC season.”
It will mark Tandy’s first time in a yellow Corvette after spending the last two IMSA seasons in the silver design.
“The color has symbolized Corvette Racing for a long time,” he said.
“Everyone – the Corvette owners, the fans and even our competitors – know a battle is coming when they see Corvette Racing yellow.
“I can’t wait to get in this car at Sebring!”
The No. 64 Corvette entry is one of five full-season entries in GTE-Pro this season alongside the pair of factory Porsche 911 RSR-19s and AF Corse-entered Ferrari 488 GTE Evos.
