Inception Racing and Garage 59 have teamed up to race a Ferrari 488 GTE in this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The two GT3 entrants will utilize Inception’s automatic invite earned by winning the 2021-22 Asian Le Mans Series GT title for a GTE-Am entry featuring Garage 59 driver Alexander West.
West, who made his Le Mans debut in 2020 in an AF Corse Ferrari, is the only confirmed driver in the lineup so far.
The collaboration has been made possible due to Inception’s primary lineup of Brendan Iribe, Ollie Millroy and Ben Barnicoat already being confirmed in the race through the team’s full-season FIA World Endurance Championship entry in collaboration with Team Project 1.
“Just as last year Inception Racing secured an invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with Brendan already committed to the full WEC season, we are excited to join forces with Garage 59 on this project,” said Inception Racing team manager Bas Leinders.
Garage 59 team principal Andrew Kirkaldy added: “We’re very pleased to be racing at Le Mans this summer as this event has been on our wish list for a long time. Thank you to Brendan for the opportunity; we will of course all do our best to go out there and get a top result.”
The effort will be supported by AF Corse and will run under the Inception Racing banner.
“It will be great to go back to Le Mans to race the fantastic Ferrari 488 GTE,” said West. “My thanks to Brendan and also to AF Corse for their expertise and support. I think that together we will make a very strong team.”
