Stefan Johansson is set for a full-season campaign in the FIA World Endurance Championship, having been confirmed as one of the six drivers in Millennium Racing’s LMP2 program.
The UAE-backed effort, run by Delta-ADR, will field a pair of Oreca 03 Nissans in the eight-round championship which kicks off at Silverstone in April.
The former Formula One ace has been confirmed in the No. 23 entry with Shinji Nakano and Mike Conway, who will also be serving as Toyota Racing’s test and reserve driver in LMP1.
Johansson, meanwhile, satisfies the ACO’s requirement of at least one Silver-rated driver in each lineup, with Fabien Giroix being the designated driver in the No. 22 car.
Giroix will share the wheel with John Martin and Oliver Turvey, who moves over from Jota Sport’s European Le Mans Series campaign last year.
The Simon Dowson-led operation conducted a tire test in Bahrain last month, which was also an opportunity for Turvey to get his first laps in the Oreca 03 Nissan.
The Millennium development fund sponsorship debuted on Delta-ADR’s No. 25 entry in last year’s season finale and was also present on the No. 9 Action Express Racing-entered Corvette DP, which finished third overall in last month’s Rolex 24 at Daytona.
