Nicolas Lapierre will be reunited with his 24 Hours of Le Mans class-winning team and co-drivers next weekend in Texas, with the Frenchman having been confirmed in KCMG’s Oreca 05 Nissan for the Six Hours of Circuit of The Americas.
Lapierre, who teamed with Richard Bradley and Matt Howson for LMP2 class victory in June, will again fill in for Nick Tandy, who has elected to focus on his TUDOR United SportsCar Championship commitments with Porsche North America that weekend.
Tandy was originally one of four drivers scheduled to pull double-duty between the WEC and TUDOR Championship races, both on Sat. Sept. 19. His Porsche NA co-driver Patrick Pilet, who will drive both races, currently leads the GTLM championship with two rounds to go.
COTA will mark Lapierre’s third start of the year with the Hong Kong-backed squad, having also filled in for the Porsche factory driver at Spa-Francorchamps in May.
KCMG currently leads the LMP2 teams and drivers’ championships heading into the Lone Star Le Mans event.
