Inter Europol Competition has finalized its driver lineup for the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the confirmation of 2016-17 Asian Le Mans Series LMP3 champion Nigel Moore.
The 27-year-old Englishman, who drives Inter Europol’s European Le Mans Series LMP3 entry, is set for his third appearance in the race.
Moore will co-drive the Polish squad’s Ligier JS P217 Gibson with its full-season ELMS drivers Leo Roussel and Jakub Smiechowski.
The Inter Europol team is preparing for its Le Mans debut after it secured a place on the 2019 grid through winning the Asian LMP3 title with Smiechowski and Martin Hippe.
“I am very excited to join the team for the big race; it will be my third time at Le Mans,” said Moore.
“In 2017 I raced in an LMP2 with the #34 and we finished 9th in class and the second best Ligier. So if we can do this again or even better, it would be great.
“I am also looking forward to driving with new team mates as that’s always fun. A big thank you to everybody who made this possible.”
Team manager Sascha Fassbender added: “For our first time at Le Mans we are very happy we can rely on two experienced drivers, Leo and Nigel.
“Together with Kuba we think we have a good and reliable and strong line up. Le Mans is a really big event for the team and we are very much looking forward to it.”
Moore’s third Le Mans appearance will come a decade after his debut in the race, which came behind the wheel of an LMP1-class Zytek 09S entered by Team LNT.
He then returned to the event in 2017 driving a Tockwith Motorsports-run Ligier JS P217 Gibson with Phil Hanson and ex-Formula 1 driver Karun Chandhok.
