The FIA World Endurance Championship’s new ‘FIA WEC+’ streaming platform, which is set to debut this year, will not feature any geoblocks, allowing users in North America to stream events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Lone Star Le Mans for the first time on the world championship’s official platform.

The move, which marks a “major milestone” according to a statement from the WEC, comes around an all-new digital service that will launch ahead of next month’s season-opening Qatar 1812km.

Previously, the French endurance classic, as well as well as the WEC’s U.S. race, were not available to American audiences on the previous FIAWEC.tv service due to television agreements in the region.

It’s unclear if the championship will continue to be streamed on HBO Max this year, or if FIAWEC+ will be the exclusive home of the series in North America.

Further details on the new streaming app are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
