Ferrari has announced that Nicklas Nielsen has signed a multi-year contract extension, with the Dane becoming the latest driver to commit to a long-term future with the Prancing Horse.
Nielsen, 28, is currently part of Ferrari’s factory Hypercar squad in the FIA World Endurance Championship, most notably winning the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans alongside Antonio Fuoco and Miguel Molina.
After coming up through the single-make Ferrari Challenge series, Nielsen won the GTE title in the European Le Mans Series upon debut in 2019 and subsequently secured back-to-back GTE-Am championships in WEC with AF Corse.
The latter season also included his maiden Le Mans class win with Francois Perrodo and Alessio Rovera, while in the same year Nielsen also took overall victory in the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa before going on to secure the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup title at the end of the season.
His most recent WEC victory came at the season opening Qatar 1812km earlier this year, which kicked off a run of race wins for Ferrari that only ended when Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA triumphed in the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo in July.
“Continuing to be part of the group of Ferrari official drivers is both a source of pride and a great responsibility for me,” said Nielsen.
“In recent years, I have had the privilege of achieving wins I will never forget, above all the victory at Le Mans in 2024, as well as the opportunity to continue improving as a driver.
“With great determination, I thank Ferrari and look to the future with the hope of continuing to win races and titles together while representing the Prancing Horse.”
Nielsen’s previous contract extension with Ferrari came at the end of the 2023 season.
His newest deal follows soon after fellow works drivers Antonio Giovinazzi and Alessio Rovera both also signed extensions, while Fuoco, Molina, Davide Rigon, Daniel Serra and Lilou Wadoux all had their contracts renewed late last year.
