Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup race winners Dylan Pereira and Jaxon Evans will both make their FIA World Endurance Championships debuts this weekend after receiving call-ups to compete in the 8 Hours of Bahrain.
Both drivers are also set for their GTE discipline debuts in the GTE-Am class, following their inclusion on an updated version of the 24-car entry list issued on Monday.
Pereira, who finished second in this year’s Supercup standings, will share the No. 57 Team Project 1 Porsche 911 RSR with Ben Keating and Jeroen Bleekemolen.
The Luxembourgish driver replaces Felipe Fraga, who recently tweeted that he is unable to take part in the 2019-20 WEC season finale after testing positive for COVID-19.
Porsche Junior driver Evans, who was Pereira’s teammate in single-make competition, has been confirmed in the No. 88 Dempsey-Proton Racing Porsche crew alongside Khaled Al Qubaisi and Marco Holzer.
The Silver-rated New Zealander finished fourth in the Porsche Supercup standings, while three of the series’ top four drivers are now set to take part in the Bahrain event.
Series champion Larry ten Voorde is driving Team Project 1’s No. 56 Porsche with Egidio Perfetti and Joerg Bergmeister, who is subbing for Matteo Cairoli due to the Italian’s clashing GT3 commitments in the Paul Ricard 1000km this weekend.
