Nick Tandy will depart Corvette Racing following next month’s FIA World Endurance Championship season-ending 8 Hours of Bahrain following a two-year run with the American factory squad.
The 37-year-old, who joined the Pratt & Miller-run operation from Porsche, is rumored to be returning to the German manufacturer for the Porsche Penske Motorsport LMDh program as one of two remaining seats still left to be filled.
Tandy took part in the 2021 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season with Tommy Milner, scoring points-paying GTLM class wins at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Long Beach and Virginia International Raceway en route to a runner-up finish in the class championship alongside teammates Jordan Taylor and Antonio Garcia, who claimed their second consecutive class title.
The Englishman then moved to the WEC full-time this year alongside Milner, which has been highlighted by GTE-Pro class victory in the 6 Hours of Monza.
One race remains in the globe-trotting season, with Tandy and Milner currently sixth in the world endurance drivers’ championship, largely due to their DNF at the double points-paying 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.
While not having been an official Porsche driver for the last two years, Tandy has made several one-off appearances in Porsche 911 GT3 R cars at both the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa, Nürburgring 24 and various NLS races, while also keeping his links through the JTR Porsche Carrera Cup GB squad that he manages.
Porsche has not made an official statement regarding the matter.
