Tom Van Rompuy will make the switch to Akkodis ASP Team for the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship season after a two-year stint with TF Sport.
The Belgian driver, along with Petru Umbrarescu, were confirmed by the team on Monday as its designated Bronze-rated pilots for next year.
Van Rompuy, who gave TF Sport and the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R its first WEC pole and class win, the latter coming in this year’s 6 Hours of Fuji, tested ASP’s Lexus RC F GT3, as well as an Iron Lynx Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo in last month’s Bahrain rookie test.
He previously revealed to Sportscar365 that he was out of a ride with the Tom Ferrier-led squad, which has since announced that its second Corvette entry will feature Salih Yoluc under the Racing Team Turkey by TF banner.
While Van Rompuy will join Esteban Masson in the No. 78 Lexus, Umbrarescu will remain at the wheel of the No. 87 entry, alongside Toyota factory driver Jose Maria Lopez.
The Romanian driver made his WEC debut this year, scoring the team’s two class wins at Interlagos and Bahrain alongside Lopez and Clemens Schmid.
The Jerome Policand-led team has yet to announce its pair of Silver-rated drivers to complete the 2026 lineups.
