HAAS RT kicked off its sophomore Hankook 24H Series campaign by scoring its second series pole position in qualifying for the Hankook 6H Abu Dhabi.
The No. 21 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II of Stanislav Minsky, Thomas Kiefer, Torsten Kratz and Mathieu Detry posted a combined time of 1:54.127 to lead across three sessions.
Car Collection Motorsport will line up second, with the No. 96 Porsche 911 GT3 R of Dustin Blattner, Loek Hertog and Dennis Marschall 0.072 seconds down.
Baron Motorsport completed the top three with the No. 86 Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 of Ernst Kirchmayr, Axcil Jefferies and Philipp Baron.
Baron similarly encountered a track limits infringement in the second session, but a rapid time from Jefferies salvaged a top-three start for the Austrian outfit.
The Silver-rated driver set the second fastest outright time across all three sessions, falling only behind Grove Racing’s Jordan Love, who set a 1:53.233.
Love, Stephen Grove and Brenton Grove will line up fifth on the grid for their first race with the No. 10 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, behind the No. 91 Herberth Motorsport Porsche of Ralf Bohn, Alfred Renauer and Antares Au.
In the GT4 class, Century Motorsport took pole ahead of GPM by Dragon Racing by over a second, with Charlie Robertson and Ravi Ramyead posting a combined 2:03.770 in the No. 429 BMW M4 GT4.
The No. 408 Mercedes-AMG GT4 of Keith Gatehouse, Ramez Azzam and Denis Bulatov will start second, with Michael O’Brien, Benjamin Tusting, Samuel Harrison and Kavi Jundu third in the No. 423 Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo entered by Toyota Gazoo Racing UK.
